There’s something incredibly soothing about the song “Blue” by Yung Kai. With its mellow, lo-fi vibes and emotional undertones, it’s the kind of track that invites stillness, reflection, and calm. I knew right away that this song would sound magical on the kalimba—and I wasn’t wrong.
For this cover, I used the Hluru Ocean Blue Whale 21 Keys Kalimba, a beautifully crafted instrument with a serene blue finish that perfectly matches the mood of the song. The warm, bell-like tones of the kalimba added a natural softness to the melody, making the overall vibe even more relaxing. Each note felt like a drop of water rippling through stillness—gentle, clear, and deeply expressive.
This cover was also a joy to record because it allowed me to truly connect with the essence of the music. No need for lyrics—just the heartfelt simplicity of kalimba sounds flowing through my fingertips. If you enjoy lo-fi inspired music or just want something peaceful to listen to, I’d love for you to check it out.
